Understanding adult ADHD
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a condition involving an ongoing pattern of inattention, hyperactivity, impulsivity, or a combination of these experiences. Symptoms begin in childhood, although their effect may become more noticeable when adult responsibilities increase.
ADHD can affect work, education, relationships, finances, routines, and self-confidence. Similar concerns can also occur with anxiety, depression, sleep problems, medical conditions, or medication effects, which is why a careful evaluation matters.
