Understanding the pattern behind a behavior
“Behavioral issues” is a broad description, not a single diagnosis. Changes in behavior may reflect stress, mood symptoms, anxiety, trauma, attention difficulties, sleep problems, substance use, medical concerns, or changes in a person’s environment.
A useful evaluation looks beyond the behavior itself. It considers when the pattern began, what happens before and after it, how it affects daily functioning, and whether health or environmental factors may be contributing.
